Welcome

Come by the Hills, a traditional song (sung by both Celtic Thunder (Damian McGinty), and Canadian Loreena McKennitt) perfectly describes a music festival nestled in the beautiful Battle River Valley in East Central Alberta.

The hills will be alive August 17th and 18th, 2012 when the second annual Come by the Hills Music Festival takes place at Mistahiya. The Battle River Music Society (and its amazing group of volunteers) is bringing you a great line-up of folk, country, roots, blues, jazz and celtic musicians again this year!

We will start with a bang Friday night , Aug. 17 at 6:00 pm.  Saturday’s show starts at 10:00 am and continues  through until 11:00 p.m.  So we invite you to bring your friends, families and neighbors to the second annual Come by the Hills Folk Music Festival!

‘No Service’ camping along the Battle River is available on a first come / first served basis at a fee of $10.00 per night.  There will be a food vendor on-site, as well as a beer garden.

Mistahiya is 10 km east off of Highway 41 between Wainwright and Vermilion.  Keep an eye out for the signs.  Refer to our “about” section for maps and directions.

This is a rain or shine event.  Bring an umbrella and your favourite lawn chair!
